Location was great & the apartment was well equipped.

The digital key. In order to access the building & to open the apartment you need to have access to internet to be able to access and open the digital key. This really wouldn’t a big issue if you would have access to wifi when standing in-front of the building. But unfortunately this is not the case in this apartment, as the wifi connection weakens/dies the moment you step outside of the apartment. I asked the contact person whether it was possible to use the set of keys that were in the apartment. But unfortunately this wasn’t possible as it was only meant for Emergency, which I thought it was weird and inconsiderate giving to the fact that not everybody has access to internet while on vacation. Other than the Key issue, everything about this apartment was great!

The apartment has a very good location, clean, tidy and preserved, equipped with everything you need for everyday life. The service is at a high level, polite and helpful people, always ready to help. I highly recommend and would make a reservation again!

Nicely designed, convinient, and wonderful location (but with potential for some noise).

First, Pablo and Melissa from MadFlats are awesome. Very positive, welcoming, and positive. They made any effort to address any question or issue we had as quickly and professionally as possible. Furthermore, when we had an issue with the apartment (see below), they found us an alternative one for the last few days of our stay. Thank you! The apartment is not big, but well designed, with everything needed for 2 people to enjoy. It's fully equiped to live in for longer periods (we stayed almost a month), and has a great big TV and a quality audio speaker to play great music. It's pleasant, and lit with nice outside light. The location is wonderful. Very easy to walk to almost everywhere in Madrid Centro (we practically almost didn't use public transportation at all). Also, the building is in a nice street, next to a chiq quiet hotel.

The one issue we had (which drove the rating down a bit) was due to the not-so-good noise isolation in the building (this is an infrastructure issue, and not directly related to MadFlats) is with noise disturbances from the flats above and next to this one. The floors in the apartment above is hardwood, and we had noticeable noise, sometimes significatnly disturbing, multiple times (every 1-2 days) due to heavy walking and loud dropping of stuff. Strangely, these could last for more than an hour continuously, and sometimes they were at 7am and sometimes after midnight. MadFlats talked with the them to ask them to be more aware of the noise, but it didn't really stop, and we had to talk about it with MadFlats a couple of times. Also, it turns out that the walls are not with great isolation too. For a few days we had a family with 2 small kids in the next door apartment, so we "enjoyed" occasional kids crying sounds, playing loudlty, and kids TV shows sounds. I'd mention on the good side that there's no street noise in the apartment. If you plan to mainly sleep in the apartment, but mostly be out in the wonderful city of Madrid, this is probably less of an issue.

We had to wait in the hot sun for someone from the company to meet us. This was after I rang them from the airport to let them know we were leaving the airport. I was assured that someone from the company would be at the apartment to meet us. We had our bags on the footpath in the hot sun - had to ring 2 more times for someone to arrive. We were on the top floor and the fitted lift inside was tiny. The young girl told us to put our bags in the lift and walk up and get the bags at the top. Inside the apartment we did not have a balcony view as advertised. I paid for 4 people and only got 3 towels. It was advertised as having 2 bathrooms and only had one - I would not have booked this place if it only had one bathroom. The tap handle in the bathroom sink was broken and we informed the company who did nothing but tell us the previous occupiers had broken it. The worst thing that we will be pursuing legal action unless the company or booking.com reimburse us is that our luggage got jammed in the lift on departure. No one in the building had a release key to open the external door and we missed our train to Valencia. We could not get the tickets changed or reimbursed so lost 300 Euro. The company tried to blame us. Above all this is a safety issue as someone could be trapped in the lift for hours as no one had a release key and the lift company were hours away. We finally got our bags out after I suggested that there is probably a similar lift in a nearby building with a release key. The janitor finally activated and rang his friend in the next building and the door was released within seconds after 2 hours of doing nothing. The company will not take any responsibility for this and tried tried to blame us after the representative who initially met us told us to put our luggage in the tiny lift. I blame booking.com for allowing false advertising. You need to tell people that apartments are on the third floor, the lift is tiny and that there are real safety issues.

Bed for third guest was not prepared. Bathroom tap was broken and it was not easy to use it. Always bad smell in the bathroom. Very cheep interior materials and details.

This is the worst apartment I have ever lived in. The bedroom is coverd full of sewer smell you can't sleep in it at all, also the first night we stayed apartment there are already lot of flies in bedroom and ants in toilets .The most rediculous thing was not refunding our deposit because we used the sofa bed(Because the smell of the sewer in the room makes it impossible to sleep) and some dishes were not washed（Because this kind of accommodation spoils our holiday mood, if we clean up the room, will the apartment pay us extra for their terrible apartment? If not, I don’t think we need to tidy up the room for them）. when we tried to get our deposit back, THE STAFF ASKED US TO GIVE A POSITIVE REVIEW BEFORE RETURNING THE DEPOSIT！！！

Great location, very helpful staff, newly renovated and very comfortable, very quiet. Electronic codes via the phone worked well. Supermarket just around the corner. Opera metro station five mins away.

No outlook, although the apartment was very light. The windows either opened onto a light well or were too high for a view. The bed was a bit saggy but the sofa bed was very comfortable.
